Golden's OPEN Acrylics are colours for professional artists created with a longer working or "open" time before they dry, allowing artists the opportunity to work in a manner similar to oils. 

The longer working time of OPEN acrylics allows for more delicate shading, glazing and fine detail painting that can be more difficult with traditional acrylic paints. The paint will last longer on the palette without skinning over. OPEN acrylics are able to be blended with most of Golden's other paints and mediums, although at a lower quantity than normal otherwise they will lose their long workable period.

The Mixing Set includes 12 colours for the most optimal range of mixing and blending a wide range of hues.

This set includes twelve 22mL (¾oz) tubes of the following colours:

  • Benzimidazolone Yellow Light
  • Benzimidazolone Yellow Medium
  • Naphthol Red Light
  • Quinacridone Magenta
  • Phthalo Blue (Red Shade)
  • Phthalo Blue (Green Shade)
  • Phthalo Green (Blue Shade)
  • Phthalo Green (Yellow Shade)
  • Titan Buff
  • Raw Umber
  • Carbon Black
  • Titanium White

and a 30mL (1oz) bottle of thinner.
